The Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness

Welcome to the Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness

The Office of Institutional Planning and Effectiveness (IPE) at Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ (Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ) plays a central role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement, strategic alignment, and institutional accountability. Its core responsibilities include managing university-wide assessment processes, supporting accreditation compliance—particularly with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC)—and leading strategic planning efforts. IPE facilitates data-informed decision-making by evaluating student learning outcomes, academic and administrative effectiveness, and aligning unit goals with Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ’s broader mission. The office also gathers, analyzes, and reports data on career outcomes for graduates, working collaboratively across campus to enhance post-graduation success. In addition to its core functions, IPE contributes to the university’s internationalization efforts, promotes the effective and strategic management of academic space, and undertakes special projects that support innovation and institutional excellence. Through this comprehensive portfolio, IPE serves as a catalyst for progress and a key steward of Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ’s strategic vision.

Academic Space Committee

The Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ Academic Space Committee’s mission is to align academic space utilization with Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ’s mission and strategic goals. The committee reports to the Provost and provides policies and guidance on appropriate use of academic space, reviews the usage of classroom, research, and academic space.

Assessment

This office handles student learning outcomes assessment. Assessment is the systematic, continuous process of gathering, reviewing, and using data on student learning and other outcomes for the purpose of making improvements.

Career Outcomes

Career outcomes for graduates are an important measure of post-graduation student success. While these outcomes do not capture the entirety of what students learn or gain from a university education, they do tell a compelling story about how students leverage their knowledge and experience once they leave the institution.
